The solo/side project of Jason Wells from for algernon. While Jason and other members were taking time to recover from various mishaps and tragedies Jason began writing material to keep busy and as a way healing himself. After a year of writing he compiled the new material along with broken pieces of songs, unfinished projects, and soundscapes, sat down and began recording. With the thought that these songs would never be played live or maybe not even publicly released there was a sense of freedom that didn't exist in prior outings. He went darker, deeper, more personal, more abstract and expirimented with recording techniques. He recorded on reel to reel, tape machines, digital recorders, loop machines and then multi-tracked them in his computer. The results are the 10 songs that make up "near the lake, just after dark", a collection of songs about death, love, loss, finding yourself and recovery.
