Kentucky Timbre

Submit Correction Claim Band

Kentucky Timbre started the natural way... The right people kept showing up at the same places, admirations were admitted and bonds were formed. The result was a group producing dark green music from the hills... front porch mountain music laced with front man David Rhodes Brown's rootsy American song writing. Brown is joined by Uncle Mike Carr on fiddle, John Schmidt on upright, Mark Alexander on guitar and banjo, Scott Risner on mando and Casey Campbell on the good ol' washboard to form Kentucky Timbre. Kentucky Timbre are backed by vocalist group The Boone County Caterwaulers (Rabbit Hash KY girls Jeanne Sheridan, Jenny Loveless and Cat Sabin).

The band was nominated for a Cincinnati Entertainment Award in 2014. In 2013 they played at the Whispering Beard Folk Festival, A Taste Of Cincinnati, Music For The Mountains, Fountain Square’s Americana Night and Washington Parks roots series as well as numerous clubs and private events around the tristate. Their debut album is close to being finished and will be released in 2014.
