Down Home Collective is a jazz trio based out of Cincinnati Ohio, and is led by Ben Bratton. Their group features compositions from pianist Andrew Haug, bassist Matt McCoy, and drummer Ben Bratton. Their music is based largely in swung traditional styles, with modern harmonies and melodies. Some of the Down Home Collective’s influences include The Ray Brown Trio, Mulgrew Miller, Shai Maestro, Thelonious Monk, and Elvin Jones. They also have multiple arrangements of their favorite standards, largely influenced by The Ray Brown Trio and Ari Hoenig’s arranging style. These diverse influences make for a dynamic, and energetic night of music.
