The Mitchells with Ric Hordinski and Strings
This all ages performance will showcase compositions from the Mitchells' upcoming album, performing them live for the first time with strings and in a unique in-the-round setting where the audience is surrounded with lush stereo sound. After their 2016 collaboration with concert:nova chamber orchestra -- culminating with a performance at the cutting-edge National Sawdust venue in Brooklyn, NYC -- the Mitchells halted touring to compose a new album and further evolve the band's sound. Working with guitarist and producer Ric Hordinski -- and creative partners Julie Spangler, Ted Nelson and Eric Bates of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra -- they are in the final stages of their third studio album and fourth release. Pre- and post- concert receptions will offer educational insight into the band's unique performance and recording setup, and feature a "brunch beverage" bar benefitting the non-profit Cincinnati USA Music Heritage Foundation/
