The New Royals (Cincinnati) with The Rad Trads (NYC) live at Urban Artifact on Friday, May 27th!
**FREE SHOW - MUSIC STARTS AT 9PM**
"The New Royals are Cincinnati’s emergent deep funk band, channeling late 60s/early 70s funk 45s with all the flash and flare of Lyn Collins and the JB’s peppered with blues and jazz influences. The nine-piece band formed in early 2015 and plays high-octane shows around the Queen City, still ripe with reverence as the crucible of funk nearly half a century ago. They will tour this summer and hit the studio in late 2016 to record their first full-length LP."
"Based in New York City, The Rad Trads have quickly gained a reputation as one of New York's most entertaining live acts. They bring their love of the game to a diverse style of soulful American music, with influences ranging from early jazz to New Orleans brass band, R&B, the Chicago and delta blues, and rock & roll. Featuring three powerful horns, a driving rhythm section, and three captivating lead vocalists, The Rad Trads consistently win over audiences with their relentless energy, charisma, and enthusiasm."
