The W. Montys

Now many years after drumming with promenade and subsequently recording two solo records, seaside and some sort of static, Cincinnati's Brian Ferry (who City Beat described as having boozy Tom Waits vocals) has eased back into the scene with a few other players under the moniker The W. Montys. The Montys are comprised of Ferry (guitar, harmonica, vocals), Denny Davis (fiddle), Graham Hentschel (tenor guitar, known from Jake Speed & the Freddies), and BJ Johnson (mandolin). With the Montys its a folksy, bluegrass-ish odyssey with two albums worth of original material, new originals, offbeat covers, and some righteous improvisational abilities.
