Magnolia Mountain Album Release Show

with:
  • Bulletville
  • The Perfect Children
  • Veronica Grim & The Blue Ribbon Boys
Magnolia Mountain are releasing not one, but two brand new albums on this night (their fourth album, “Beloved”, as well as bandleader Mark Utley’s debut solo record, “Four Chords and a Lie”). Magnolia Mountain is one of Cincinnati’s most acclaimed and prolific Americana/Roots Rock bands, with three previous albums and multiple CEA Band-Album-Songwriter of the Year nominations to their credit.

“Beloved” is a recorded introduction to the newest edition of Magnolia Mountain, still rootsy but with a Rock/Southern Soul approach based around electric guitars, bass and keyboards, featuring all three MM vocalists (Utley, Renee Frye, and Melissa English) in featured roles. Think of a mix of Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and 60s/70s Muscle Shoals southern R&B, as a reference for what the “Beloved” album holds in store.
Utley’s “Four Chords and a Lie” album is a 50/50 mix of five straight-up Honky Tonk Country songs recorded with his all-star side band Bulletville, and five more stripped-down, intimate solo songs.

Utley and Bulletville will start out Magnolia Mountain’s portion of the evening with several songs from the “Four Chords” album before passing the stage over to Magnolia Mountain to perform the “Beloved” record in its entirety.

Kicking off the show are the one-two punch of high-octane, kickass, female-fronted powerhouses The Perfect Children and Veronica Grim & the Blue Ribbon Boys.
