Sally Lukasik began her musical journey at the age of four when a door-to-door salesman sold her parents an accordion. From that point on, Sally knew that music would be her life's passion. She is currently an active performer (accordion and trumpet) in the greater Cincinnati area. Sally graduated from Mariemont High School (1974) and holds degrees from The University of Cincinnati (BM Trumpet Performance 1978), Metropolitan State College of Denver (BA Music Education 1985) and The University

She is currently an active performer (accordion and trumpet) in the greater Cincinnati area. Sally graduated from Mariemont High School (1974) and holds degrees from The University of Cincinnati (BM Trumpet Performance 1978), Metropolitan State College of Denver (BA Music Education 1985) and The University of Denver (MA Music Theory 1990.) A dedicated educator, Sally worked as a music teacher for the Denver Public Schools (CO), Hemet Unified School District (CA) and Northwest Local School District (OH) from 1985-2002. As a graduate student at the University of Denver, Sally studied with the American accordion virtuoso Robert Davine and is continuing her studies with Maestro Emanuele Rastelli. She plays a variety of musical genres, including jazz, ethnic folk music, classical and musette as a soloist and as a duo with her husband, clarinetist Joe F. Lukasik (Joe and Sally Duo.) She is an active performer for the Arts and Humanities Resource Center, a non-profit organization in Cincinnati which brings the arts to the elderly community. Previous engagements include playing accordion in productions of Brundibar, Fiddler on the Roof, The Wiz, Three Penny Opera, The Halfway Diner and Cabaret at the Aronoff Center, Loretto Heights College and Wright State University. Additional engagements include appearances with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the CCM Philharmonia Orchestra and the Dayton Philharmonic. In addition to her performances as an accordionist, Sally leads and plays trumpet with Queen City Vintage Vibe and the Buffalo Ridge Jazz Band, and has performed as a trumpeter at numerous traditional jazz festivals throughout the country and in Germany.
