Jazzopolis was formed in 2014 by veteran musicians Brian Gallagher, Max Erwine, Matt Nitzberg, and Jon Jennings, after playing together more casually for several years. They are increasingly active on the local scene, playing jazz, jazz-rock, funk, fusion and blues.
