Jay Clark Band burst on the scene in 2017 releasing two albums, Cocked & Loaded and Turning It Up. Their music has been described as "contagious southern rock" that "brings back the soul to rock and roll." It is music that will have fans raising their solo cups high all summer long. JCB’s new record was released worldwide the week before Christmas and the country metal guitarist and his Ohio based band consisting of Rob Carlson, lead guitar; Dwayne Russell, bass/keys; and drummer Tony Ruscello are setting out on a tri-state tour that is sure to get your boots stomping and fists in the air.
A long time cover band singer, Jay Clark started writing original songs after he was challenged by his brothers to complete his lifelong dream of making a record. Jay had took his music to Nashville and recorded with award winning studio musicians and in early 2017 released his critically praised album, Cocked & Loaded, to radio stations around the world. The breakthrough album had multiple #1 hits on internet radio like “Get Wild” (Full Impact Radio), “Won’t Be Pushed Around” (365 Rock Radio), & “Freight Train” (365 Ultimate Radio). The album received exceptional reviews from blogs and websites like The Huffington Post who called his debut “a strong album, full of urgent energy and pedal to the metal music.” Celebmix said that “fresh tracks like these should be played on the radio.” John Daly of California Rocker, wrote that Jay makes “great music on his breakthrough album.” His duet with Adam Cunningham, whose soulful voice helped him reach the Top 8 on Season 13 of The Voice, propelled his song “The River” to get airplay on FM radio stations.
In the fall of 2017 he travelled back to Nashville where he collaborated with award winning musicians like Kenny Chesney’s guitarist Kenny Greenberg and Reba McIntire’s guitarist Jeff King and emerged with eight new songs that break new ground for the rocker. The band released their first single, the title track of the new album, Turning It Up and it was featured as the Homegrown Track of the Week in January 2018 on Purerock 96.5. Of the new album, Eastcoastrocker.com writes that “Turning It Up is a visual and compelling collection of songs and the music takes the listener down an old country road, like on the single “Backroads,” to wistful times on “Hometown”. It’s a great sophomore effort from this Americana-influenced rocker.”
The band is back in Nashville recording their third album which is slated for a May release. On March 18th they released their first single You're Going Down.
