Art Mulcahy is an out-of-the-box Country/ Rock vocalist and songwriter with an evolving sound that draws as much from Shinedown and Staind as it does Garth Brooks and Jason Aldean. Mulcahy crosses boundaries fearlessly and is intent on bringing something new to his genre. He has shared stages with artists ranging from David Allen Coe to Vince Neil and is about to deliver his take on this style to the world with a debut album, Art Mulcahy "How My Country Sounds" released by Native South Records based out of Los Angeles & Nashville.
The record was tracked in Los Angeles and Nashville and produced by Jonathan Smith a.k.a. TheRealJonSmith (Blake Shelton, Michael Sweet, Interscope Records, Abbey Road Studios). Mulcahy has drawn comparisons to Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aaron Tippin, and The Eagles but possesses fierce originality that keeps him in his own creative lane.
Currently based in Ohio, Mulcahy grew up on the move as a military brat, living in the USA, Europe, and on the island of Guam. He sang, played sports, and started learning guitar at age 12. He served seven years in the USMC after 9/11 and sustained a traumatic brain injury in a tragic Hummer accident at Camp Lejeune. After being honorably discharged, he dedicated his life to music. Mulcahy rode Greyhounds cross country for a while, finally beginning his musical life in Sacramento, California.
Since then, Art has developed into a fine musician and high-energy performer in his own right with the power and presence to attract a global audience. He calls upon all his influences and makes the music that feels right in his own heart to show listeners that it’s okay to be different and to defy expectations. As an artist, he is an open book, showing his true emotions onstage and including different styles of music and even some comedy in his concerts. His goals are to play great music, spread positive energy, and to bring amazing people together by doing so. Anyone who cares about the future of Country and Rock needs to discover Art Mulcahy today. He just rode in on a horse of a different color.
