About Byzantine
Formed in 2000 in West Virginia, Byzantine have released three albums on Prosthetic Records and one Independently and have been hailed as the most underrated band of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal Era. Their 2013 self titled album debuted #5 on Itunes Top Albums above Five Finger Death Punch, Killswitch Engage and Newsted and garnered multiple Metal Album of the Year nods.  Additionally, “Byzantine” debuted #1 most added Metal album in College Rock Radio and charted top 10 for 7 weeks (CMJ).
Of “Byzantine”, Metalinsider.net said “It’s undoubtedly the greatest start-to-finish metal record of 2013” and NoCleanSigning.com said “I can’t help but put this album as my favorite of 2013. They won my #1 spot without question.”
Byzantine have toured in 3 countries with acts such as Lamb of God, Shadows Fall, Goatwhore, EyeHateGod, Kittie, Mnemic, Arsis and God Forbid.  They are currently in studio recording their 5th album, "To Release is to Resolve".
