SOUL | FUNK | ORIGINALITY
The Cincy Soul Series: Northside Edition kicks off a summer full of events for new artistic development non-profit, Urban Impresario. Focusing on the rich history of the region's funk and soul scene, this event looks to spotlight the area's top independent funk, soul, jazz, and hip hop bands, with an emphasis on quality and artistic originality.
The lineup of talented Cincinnati artists include Electro-soul loop pedal vocalist and baritone saxophonist, Jennifer Simone, Eclectic Vibe, a versatile groove based band deeply rooted in r&b, soul, hip hop and improvisation, and Under New Order, a Cincinnati original jazz, retro soul, funk, and hip hop fusion band with a unique sound and blend of vocals and instrumentation. Urban Impresario's DJ Soulstar Suave will be on the digital 1s & 2s and their visual artists will also be capturing the night with live paintings, etc.
The Cincy Soul Series Northside Edition takes place Saturday June 21, 2014 9pm at The Chameleon, 4114 Hamilton Ave 45223,www.thechameleonclub.com. Tickets are available at the door for $5.
