Keith performs a compositional style termed urban tribal music or “Slap Guitar“. Incorporating finger style techniques as well as rhythms and musical devices from around the world it is played by creating melodic, harmonic and percussive sounds on the body and neck of the guitar. “I try to incorporate Afro/Cubaña, Middle Eastern and South American rhythmic devices. In this style, the guitar is manipulated struck, bent, cajoled and otherwise romanced into creating unique sounds and nuances.” His new release “Shadowland” as well as his upcoming CD “Encryptions” exhibit this style of composition. Further, Keith plays and sings original songs as well as utilizes varying techniques to create original approaches to cover songs.
