Dan Van Vechten Releases Get Right

Get yourself down to The Southgate House Revival tomorrow for the release of Dan Van Vechten’s CD Get Right. Local favorites River City Roustabout and Hu Town Holler will be warming up the stage for the long awaited release of Get Right

Get Right is Dan Van Vechten’s baby, but the CD contains a who’s who of Cincinnati artists. Such as; Will Kimble (mandolin and vocals) and Johnny Castetter (bass and vocals). Featured guests include Heather Buckley Pauley (vocals), Hank Becker (banjo), Jeremy Francis (resonator guitar), Aaron Hedrick (harmonica), Joe Macheret (fiddle), and Rob McAllister (guitar).

Dan Van Vechten is a modern day storyteller. What folk music is supposed to be. Get Right takes you on a journey through what we can only imagine to be Vechten’s life lessons. Within the song “Nuclear Winter” we are told, “The only way to win is not to fight.” No truer words, my friend. “April Fools” is a haunting ballad of the ending of winter and love lost, “She likes you empty, makes you more tempting…Hibernation does not let you dream.” “Cora Mae” is a good ol’ fashioned knee slapper with an upbeat message to stay away from Cora Mae, that fiddle-playing whore.

Don’t miss out on this night of storytelling. Doors are at 8p, show starts at 9p. Cost of admission is $12 prior (BUY HERE) or $15 at the door. Your ticket price includes a copy of the new CD!
