Single Tickets for CSO and Pops on Sale Now

Single tickets for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Cincinnati Pops 2016-17 season at the Taft Theatre are on sale now through the CSO and Pops Box Office at the Taft Theatre (513) 381-3300 and online at cincinnatisymphony.org and cincinnatipops.org. While subscriptions have been available for purchase since January, this is the first chance for non-subscribers to purchase tickets to this star-studded season at the Orchestra’s “home away from home.” The Orchestra will perform at the Taft Theatre for the 2016-17 season while Music Hall undergoes renovation. Attendees to LUMENOCITY Aug. 5-7 will experience the Orchestra in the Taft prior to the official launch of the season. 

The CSO’s season at the Taft officially starts Thursday, Sept. 8 as piano legend Emanuel Ax performs Beethoven. The Pops season kicks off Friday, Sept. 16 with a Hollywood action & adventure program featuring Oscar-nominated actor Edward James Olmos. Other season highlights for the CSO include one-night-only performances by Yo-Yo MaItzhak PerlmanLang Lang (tickets for these performances have been available to purchase since June), subscription concerts featuring Hilary HahnGil ShahamMidoriBranford Marsalis, and more, as well as the return of the popular One City, One Symphony, MusicNOW, Pelléas Trilogy, Classical Roots and Brahms Fest programs. Pops season highlights includes performances by Vanessa WilliamsMelissa EtheridgeBen FoldsSmokey RobinsonSara Evans and more, plus the return of the Lollipops Family Concert series, Holiday Pops and New Year’s Eve. 

Student Access 
For the 2016-17 season, the Cincinnati Symphony OrchestraCincinnati Pops and May Festival are launching “Student Access,” a new membership program for full-time students that provides discounted access to concerts, invitations to exclusive bonus experiences and discounts at popular Cincinnati hangouts. Replacing the “Ignite” program, “Student Access” is open to full-time students and offers two tiers of participation. The first level, Student Access, is a free membership; members have access to $15 tickets to most CSO concerts and $20 to most Pops concerts the week of the performance (subject to availability; no ticketing fees at any time), as well as invitations to select engaging events. 

The second level, Student Access Plus, has a $36 membership fee which includes tickets to 3 concerts, plus the option to purchase $5 tickets to additional concerts (no ticketing fees at any time). Members of Student Access Plus can purchase tickets to concerts in advance (not available for the lower level Student Access membership), and is the best option for securing tickets to the most popular performances. Student Access Plus members will also receive invitations to special events, VIP backstage access and other exclusive perks. 

Membership sign-ups to Student Access and Student Access Plus begin Monday, Aug. 15 at studentaccess.cincinnatisymphony.orgCSO staff members will also be on-hand at select student orientations at area universities throughout August.
