MPMF & MEMI Join Forces!

It’s been no secret around this small city that something was up with Midpoint Music Festival. News broke this morning that explains a lot, and solidifies the future success of our beloved Midpoint Music Festival. MEMI (the organization that produces events at Riverbend Music Center, PNC Pavilion, The Taft Theatre, and The Rose Music Center) has partnered with Cincinnati CityBeat to produce the festival this year.

The event will return under its new operators September 23-25, 2016.

Founded in 2001 and purchased by CityBeat in 2008, MPMF is a three-day music festival centered around Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhoods. The festival has grown over the years to include such diverse artists as The Head And The Heart, Purity Ring, Iron And Wine, Grizzly Bear and The Afghan Whigs to name a few.  “We are thrilled to form a strategic partnership with MEMI and the 2016 Midpoint Music Festival,” said CityBeat Publisher Tony Frank. “CityBeat and MEMI have a longstanding relationship that dates back to 1994. It made sense for us to partner with a local company that is engaged with the music community and has a proven track record of success.”

Music and Event Management Inc. (MEMI) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, that produces over 250 events entertaining over 700,000 fans a year at its venues including Riverbend Music Center, PNC Pavilion (at Riverbend Music Center), Taft Theatre and The Ballroom at the Taft in Cincinnati and The Rose Music Center in Huber Heights, OH.  The new partnership adds to MEMI’s portfolio of fesitvals they produce including LUMENOCITY, Cincy Cinco, The Ohio River Throwdown and Tall Stacks.  “MEMI is very excited about the opportunity to use our booking, production and promotional resources to grow Midpoint,” said MEMI programming coordinator Rick McCarty.  “We look forward to making this year’s Midpoint Music Festival the biggest and best the City, region, Over The Rhine and music fans have seen!”
