Nicholas & The Pessimistics Release LP at The Drinkery

Nicholas & The Pessimistics are releasing their debut LP this Friday at The Drinkery with Willow Tree Carolers and The B-sides (Nashville)! Come celebrate with this soulful band!

Members Nicholas Baker (vocals/guitar), Shawn Steele (lead guitar), and Donie Maness (drums) played as a trio for a short while, traveling to Nashville and being featured at venues such as the Exit INN and the Rutledge before adding bassist Alex Fraser to head into the studio with them. The debut LP features a mix of folky alt-country songs with sprinklings of bluegrass throughout.

Willow Tree Carolers are a folk, roots, and americana band from our Queen City Cincinnati, Ohio. They have taken their vast array of influences put them in a blender, added a cherry, and out came this style. Foot stomping is definitely not frowned upon, neither would be singing along, however you feel music is welcomed at a Willow Tree show. The band is made up of a cousin, two brothers, and two friends. The cousin Brandon Martin (vocals, ukulele, and guitar), one of the brothers Josh Sparks (vocals, banjo, and guitar), the second brother David Sparks (vocals, percussion, washboard, and bones), and friend to them all Moose Gronholm (upright Bass).

The B-sides are a folk/indie/pop band that formed in fall 2015. Based out of Nashville, TN, all of the members met while studying at Belmont University. The culmination of sounds and influences are so diverse from each member.

Show starts at 10pm Friday and is FREE!
