SuicideGirls: Blackheart Burlesque at 20th Century Theatre

SuicideGirls: Blackheart Burlesque tour is headed to Cincinnati on Sunday, October 4th at 20th Century Theatre! The most creative, sexy, and all-around fun show has been revamped and re-imagined for this year's expanded tour, taking place this fall.  This geek fantasy spectacular will amaze, as the girls perform the sexiest striptease numbers, filled with pop-culture references.

SuicideGirls, an online community that celebrates alternative beauty and indie culture from around the world, has taken classic burlesque and added a spin to satisfy everyone’s geek side.  Star Wars, Zelda, Clockwork Orange, and Fifty Shades of Grey are a few of the pop-culture references in the show - We challenge you to find them all!  To ensure each performance is unforgettable, SuicideGirls has joined up with world-renowned choreographer, Manwe Sauls-Addison, who has worked with performers such as Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, and Lady Gaga.

SuicideGirls has been re-imagining burlesque since 2002.  They have been consistently on the road for the past 3 years, playing sold out shows across the United States and worldwide.

We sat down with SuicideGirls co-founder and Blackheart Burlesque show co-creator Missy Suicide prior to the show!

How did the founding of SuicideGirls come about?
SuicideGirls started in 2001 as a place to celebrate beautiful women who choose not to fit into the norm and as a corner of the internet where outsiders could congregate and be appreciated for being themselves.

Tell us about the current Blackheart Burlesque tour…
It is a pop culture nerdgasm.  All of the routines are themed to reference pop culture that appeal to our audience (Think: Star Wars, Super Heroes, TV, Movies and Video Games.) All set to a kick ass soundtrack and features some of the best choreography around.  Seriously this isn’t your Grandpa’s shimmy shimmy burlesque these girls are bad ass dancers  in storm trooper helmets, why have you not got your ticket yet?

What is in store next for SuicideGirls?
We are working on bringing the Burlesque show to South America, a new book, we would LOVE to do another comic book, and do a proper tour of Europe next year.  We’ve got our hearts set on world domination and won’t stop till we get there
