School of Rock Mason Foo Fighters Tribute Benefit Concert

School of Rock Mason Foo Fighters Tribute Benefit Concert

The Foo Fighters are out on tour, but will be skipping Cincinnati. They play Pittsburgh Tuesday August 25 and Indianapolis Thursday August 27 with a day off in between. School of Rock Mason will make sure that Cincinnati gets its Foo Fighters fix by presenting a Foo Fighters Tribute Show on Wednesday August 26 at the 20th Century Theatre at 7:30pm.

The Foo Fighters have been invited to enjoy the concert on their scheduled day off. “While we don’t expect the Foos to come by, Cincinnati is midway between Pittsburgh and Indianapolis and would be a great stop not only for the concert but for all that Cincinnati has to offer“, said School of Rock Mason owner Tim Garry. “Anyone who wants to encourage the Foo Fighters to support the benefit concert and the kids can reach out to them via social media and use the hashtag #FoosInCincy to get their attention. If there is any band out there that might just drop by, it is the Foo Fighters.”

The show is a benefit concert for the Rock School Scholarship Fund, a 501c3 public charity that provides scholarship money for music education for underserved kids at rock music schools across the USA. Funds raised will be earmarked to help Greater Cincinnati area kids. The Foo Fighters have been supporters of the Rock School Scholarship Fund; a portion of the proceeds from Foo frontman Dave Grohl’s birthday celebration and concert in Los Angeles earlier this year was donated to the fund. Learn more about the Rock School Scholarship fund at http://rockschoolfund.org.

Tickets to the School of Rock Mason concert will be $10 in advance and $13 at the door. All ticket proceeds will be donated to the Rock School Scholarship Fund. Advanced tickets may be purchased at www.CincyTicket.com.

The show will feature 22 Foo Fighter’s songs performed by a cast of 23 School of Rock Mason students ranging in age from 11 to 18. They are all avid Foo Fighters fans who have been inspired by the band and who look forward to bringing the music and the fun and energy of the Foo Fighters to stage. The show will be opened by students from School of Rock Mason’s Rock 101 program. WEBN’s Shroom will emcee the evening! WEBN has also been providing promotional on-air support to make sure that the event is a sell-out.

School of Rock Mason is a franchise and part of a network of more than 150 Schools of Rock around the world. The network is one of the world’s largest music educators, with more than 18,000 students in its system. School of Rock Mason offers performance programs, summer camps, workshops, and private lessons (in guitar, bass, drums, piano/keys, and voice) for kids and adults, from beginner to advanced. What distinguishes the school from most other after-school music programs is its emphasis on performance.
