North Carolina-based The Old Ceremony will be playing The Southgate House Revival in support of Sprinter released on July 10 on Yep Roc Records on Wednesday, July 29th! Produced by and recorded at Mitch Easter’s Fidelitorium Recordings in Kernersville, NC, Sprinter marks a new musical direction for the band.

Turning the reins over to the famed engineer and producer, Sprinter progresses into new musical territory, incorporating two Southern alt-pop pioneers that inspired the band’s creative vision. The album features singer/songwriter/musician and dB’s co-founder Chris Stamey, and R.E.M.’s Mike Mills.

“…these are grown-ass men playing these songs, working through life’s problems with highball glasses in hand.” –Pitchfork

Formed in 2004, the band—Django Haskins (vocals, guitar); Mark Simonsen (vibraphone, keyboards); Gabriele Pelli (violin); Dan Hall (drums) and Shane Hartman (bass)—is named in honor of Leonard Cohen’s classic 1974 album New Skin for The Old Ceremony
