Rob Baird Coming to Taft Theatre

After touring the country for the past 3 years, Rob Baird has just begun to make his mark on the country music scene.  With songs featured on ABC’s “Nashville,” and Lifetime’s “Army Wives,” Baird’s unique voice brings emotions to a number of story lines.

After getting his first guitar at age ten, Baird discovered what music could do for him. “It was sometime around age ten that I realized how music could affect the way I could feel. A song has the ability to convey emotions in a way that sometimes can’t be expressed in any other way. I still love this feeling and I would say it’s the biggest reason I am still pursuing a career in music today.”

Baird cites traditional outlaw country artists Willie, Merle and Waylon as some of his great country music influences, but also mentions that during college he got into Tom Petty, Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen. “Obviously their songwriting is incredible, their music led me to Whiskeytown, Lucinda Williams, and all whole plethora of artists that I continue to study and listen to. I have recently been listening to new records by Spanish Gold, Blake Mills, and Spoon,” says Baird.

Baird is currently working on a new album with friends, who also happen to be some of his favorite musicians.  “It is hard to tell where I will be in ten years from now, but I do hope that I am continue to pursue my passion for music and hope that my music is able to reach as many people as possible.”

You can catch Rob Baird this Saturday, October 4th at Taft Theatre in Cincinnati.
