The Cincinnati Reds, The Cincinnati Pops and Fireworks

The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra will play a post-game concert at Great American Ball Park on Friday, July 25, 2014 as part of a special Fireworks Friday show.

The Pops, conducted by John Morris Russell, will play a 30-minute concert after the Reds vs. Nationals game. The last 15 minutes of the concert will accompany the Rozzi’s Famous Fireworks show.

“We are honored to have the talented musicians from the Cincinnati Pops and conductor John Morris Russell playing for our fans,” said Phil Castellini, Reds Chief Operating Officer. “A live orchestra providing the soundtrack for Rozzi’s fireworks will be a historic night at Great American Ball Park.”

The Pops will play from the ballpark’s Kroger Fan Zone and the concert will be shown on the videoboard for all fans to see.

“When folks around the world hear the word ‘Cincinnati’ they think of two things: the Reds and the Pops. What a team!” said Mr. Russell. “I’m stoked to be bringing our Pops to Great American Ball Park for a powerhouse program that everyone will love!”

Selections for the concert will include “Finale” from Overture to William Tell, “Born to Run” by Bruce Springsteen and “Captain’s March” from Captain America.

Members of the Pops will also perform National Anthem and “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” during the 7th Inning Stretch.
