Doe Eye (aka Maryam Qudus) playing MPMF!

Doe Eye is an indie goddess not to miss at MPMF this year. Having earned praise from MTV Buzzworthy &  Billboard and been named an 'Unsigned Artist of the Month' by both FUSE TV and Alternative Press, Doe Eye crafts rich, string-soaked ballads that range from slow and soulful  to dark and grungy. Hotel Fire is the title of her latest EP, which was produced by John Vanderslice (Nada Surf, Mates of State, MK Ultra) and features the Magik*Magik Orchestra (Death Cab for Cutie, Jonny Greenwood) Her performances have been described as  “incredibly epic”. Doe Eye has a rotating cast of accompanying musicians. Sometimes there are up to 12 band members to complete her lineup. Qudus has called it a game of how many musicians can fit on the stage without falling off or getting slammed in the face with a guitar.

“All four judges seemed universally smitten with San Francisco's Doe Eye, the moniker for indie singer Maryam Qudus. Echo-heavy and orchestral, her two songs, including "I Hate You," slowed the proceedings down in a good way. Bill Werde later noted hers was the album he would seek out first if he had to choose.” - Billboard Magazine

Doe Eye is playing Midpoint Music Festival Saturday September 28th at Know Theatre at 10p!
