Help Young Colt to not eat their bass player!

Northern Kentucky-based rock 'n' soul band Young Colt will release its second EP, Fun Rebel Kid, on Friday, October 4, 2013 at MOTR Pub in Over-the-Rhine! Venerable indie outfit State Song will headline the show. Young Colt will then embark on a year-long tour of the midwestern, southestern and northeastern US in support of the EP.

"We're really excited to be getting out on the road for the first time and bringing a little bit of the Queen City to other places," said frontman Benjamin Hines. "It's going to be expensive, but worth it. We're just hoping we don't have to kill and eat our bassist, JB, for food somewhere in the mountains."

In the meantime, the band needs your help! In order to not have to eat JB, Young Colt has launched an Indiegogo campaign to fund their upcoming tour. Perks include t-shirts, EPs, personalized haikus and even bike rides or pit bull play sessions with the band!

"We have a lot of fun as a band, and we want to provide fun for others," said Hines. "We really appreciate all the support that Cincinnati has shown for us. We hope we can give a lot back to the scene in the coming years.

Initially formed in 2008 as a duo by Hines and drummer Nick Elbisser, Young Colt this year added multi-instrumentalist Ricky Little and bassist Justin "JB" Barrett to its lineup. After playing well-received shows in and around Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Louisville and Dayton, Young Colt headed into the studio to record Fun Rebel Kid. They recently signed with a new Cincinnati microlabel, The Sound Council.
