Save the Gas Light Cafe and Everybody's Records

By on  Comments

In 1978, Everybody's Records opened their doors to the music loving population of Cincinnati.  Quickly, Everybody's established a reputation as one of the best record stores in the area while maintaining independent ownership. Everybody's literally has something for everybody. The selection of vinyl records will blow your mind. The staff is knowledgeable and willing to help anyone find exactly what they are looking for. The local artist section is top notch. If you're looking for that band you heard at SGH 7 years ago, on a random Northside night, or just out around town one evening, you can almost bet you'll find it at Everybody's.

I am sure I am speaking to the choir here, but Everybody's Records is a legendary landmark to us music lovers. Cincinnati City Council will soon be voting to allow or deny sale of the buildings that currently include The Gas Light Cafe, Everbody's Records, The VFW, Royal Barbers, and The Ridge Jewelers to Walgreens.

In less than 20 hours the Save the Gas Light Cafe and Everybody's Records Facebook page grew to over 1,200 likes. The newly named 'The Pleasant Ridge Preservation Society' has been posting updates on the status of the project. A representative collected and delivered over 1,188 signatures to City Hall on Monday, and is now asking the community to write Cincinnati City Council Members. We certainly got their attention! We just can't let them forget about us.

Please write or email Cincinnati City Council and tell them you do not want the sale of these buildings to Walgreens. Here are the email addresses for City Council. You can also pick up a prewritten letter at The Gas Light or Everybody's Records.
