WE NEED MORE PEOPLE!

Any ideas on how to make the board more active? Would be awesome to get it to be like ohioshows in its prime. I mean there are 1,000s of people who go to shows in cincinnati, to just get a small percentage to join this board would make it a lot more active, bringing more people not only to the board, but also the site.

It seems like the same amount of people (which isn't that many) use the cincinnatiDIY board and I feel like it would be nice to just get all the people together on one board. But I realize their board is for a slightly different crowd.

idk I guess this thread is just for brainstorming on how to get more members and how to better advertise the board.

I wish I knew, what makes a message board successful? I mean over time as the site gets more people, the board will get more people. But there has to be a way to speed up that process or cut a corner.


I'll make another post in my cincinnati shows page about it, if someone could get kevin to make a post about joining the board on the old mad hatter FB page that would reach a lot more people though. Maybe get bands to suggest the site on their fb and in return give them some sort of feature spot on the site for a week? Obviously you'd need the band to have a decent FB following to make that worth it, but almost everything is FB these days. The only other thing that may be worth looking into is getting some pictures linking to the site and pining them on pintrest or making a youtube clip about the site/board and hoping they go viral, but those things are hard to focus into cincinnati, the advertising that way may be too broad to be affective.

Hopefully someone else reads this and has some ideas, because the board has alot of potential and the ohioshows message board that use to exist wasn't even attached to an amazing site like this one was and somehow it was successful. It died off after awhile, but I feel like if this one was to get alot of activity it wouldn't die off as quick for the fact that it is tied to a really well put together site.

word isn't getting out that the site/board is back. The bands that get a big chunck of the benifit of the boards through networking and posting gigs need to help. I posted a link to the board on the M&E FB page and am getting ready to put it on our website. if every band listed here did the same i think that might help....just my 2 cents.

FB links and likes are most likely and efficient way to spread the word. We will do that ASAP. Will also add link to our email blast footer.

We've posted a link from our FB. So many places to put stuff I like that this is local so you don't have to wade through out of town bands if your looking for someone to play with or go see. Keep up the good work and we'll do what we can.
