The TommyKnockers are the melodic punk brainchild of Tommy Cappel (formely of Josh Eagle & The Harvest City, currently The Atomic Atoms).  Add in the explosive punk drumming of Jay Baskette (Cleveland) and aggressive bass stylings of Stephen "Stevo" Sherman and you have one loud whiney sounding melodic punk outfit.
