Upon the independent release of his freshman EP Stampede in the latter days of 2009, Sam received acclaim amongst peers and professionals in the blog-o-sphere as well as in major publications. This lead to the eventual re-release of the EP in the autumn of 2010 under the wing of The Epiphysis Foundation.
2011 found Sam Goodwill anew as a 2 piece. Sam, along with partner Dennis Thomas, took novels of accumulated material into a large warehouse turned make-shift recording studio to conclude

2011 found Sam Goodwill anew as a 2 piece. Sam, along with partner Dennis Thomas, took novels of accumulated material into a large warehouse turned make-shift recording studio to conclude the awaited opus that began with Stampede. The conceptual full length was called History and released on vinyl in April of 2012.
In 2013 Sam began touring with a 3 piece band, Richard Elmsworth (formerly of Gil Mantera Party Dream) and Bob Young (Signature Event, Public Radio). The band toured the mid-west & east-coast which included recording a Daytrotter Session, playingIngenuity Fest.
In 2014 The band maintains as a 3 piece outfit with east-coast / mid-atlantic tour under thier belt in February. The tour concluded at a Sold out House of Bluesshow in Cleveland, OH supporting thier Columbus neighbors,Red Wanting Blue. The band takes on a tour schedule that doubles the previous year while preparing new material they will enter the studio with for a colaberative effort to be announced by the end of the year.
