Samuel Day

Samuel Day has received airplay from both 96Rock and WEBN.

He is a man of many talents, with humble beginnings and phenomenal ability. His music spans the gambits of rock and pop, continually satisfying listeners from both camps (and usually bringing them together) with its rich string arrangements, dynamic and layered vocals, present guitars, attention-getting synths, and pervading modern edge. Holding a music degree from the University of Dayton, Day is self-produced but with an energetic live band, and constantly moving forward with live production.

Holding a music degree from the University of Dayton, and currently pursuing a Graduate degree, Samuel Day began his musical journey in his single digits. Writing led him to music production, which started with only a Packard-Bell chat mic and and a home PC. Fast forward a few years and a lot of learning later, and Day was producing, mixing, and mastering for bands in and out of state, including heavy metal, funk, and hip-hop acts, contributing arrangements and performances to their projects as well as guesting with them live. All while playing saxophone in UD's top jazz band, and being a church pianist/vocalist/guitarist. During this time he also became the President of UD's StreetSounds Recording Studio, doing everything from from being on major event committees to schlepping equipment. And despite the demanding schedule of a commuter/music major/producer, the dream remained alive.

Day's music has been performed at rock concerts, composer's recitals (such as his saxophone quartet "Four Heroes"), and jazz concerts, such as when he created four arrangements of his rock music for a full big band. It was a hard rock/big band crossover event full of surprising cohesiveness. His debut EP "The Spark" has experienced an energetic reception, has recently been asked to headline at The Underground in Cincinnati, and opened up for American Idol top 10-er Colton Dixon last summer.

Day sings and plays the piano, guitar, bass, sax, and drums and is a proficient songwriter. He also has notable training as an actor, with ambitions beyond just music. He has done work as a graphic designer and digital artist. He seeks airplay in the rock and pop spheres and continues to create as the world watches for what comes next.
