It's every young band's dream: Getting discovered at a high school band challenge, in front of all of your friends, doing what you love and feeling, quite often for the first time, like the proverbial rock star. For the young men in PUBLIC (formerly known as "Crown”), this dream became a reality on Valentine's Day 2012.
"I knew within the first 30 seconds of their performance that something was there, and by the end of the first song I knew that it could be big,” states Brian Penick, owner of The Counter Rhythm Group.
From the uniqueness of their age (members are 18-19) or talent (jazz training + Ben Lapps’ international recognition), this group has it all, and they want to share the experience
