Old Thunder is a one-man recording project based out of Maysville, KY. Influenced by bands such as Katatonia, Crowbar, and Ahab among others, Old Thunder explores themes of loss, suffering, and existentialism influenced by the works of Cormac McCarthy and William Faulkner.
The debut EP, Slings & Arrows, was released in September 2014 and was met with a positive reception by metal websites and magazines, including UK's Zero Tolerance. This release was followed by the single "And Your Blood

Old Thunder issued a split EP Bloodlines with Tennessee-based black metal project Twilight Fauna in February 2015 and is currently writing for a full-length album, due in late 2015.
