In early 2004 Failures’ Union came together in Buffalo, NY. They released a 3-song demo and were quickly picked up by Art of the Underground to put out the “You Know Who” EP and to contribute to the AOTU Single Series. However, it wasn’t until 2007 when the band solidified their lineup, for their first full-length Sinker (One Percent Press), that they really started making waves. However, it wasn’t until 2007 when the band solidified their lineup, for their first full-length Sinker (One Percent Press), that they really started making waves. Their sound is reminiscent of much of the great indie and alt-rock of the 1990’s, with hints of The Lemonheads, Dinosaur Jr, & Guided by Voices layering their simple catchy songs. In 2008 they came to the attention of Paper + Plastick. They then recorded “In What Way”, which was released in 2009.
